Claire Catoire, a French lace dress designer currently has some of her work on display in the lobby of building 4 at FIT. The exhibit is a collaboration between Claire Catoire and French photographer Pascal Auvé. Auvé's photographs are featured alongside Catoire's dresses in the exhibit. The exhibit runs from April 4th through April 17th, so there is not much time left to catch it.
According to the exhibit description, Catoire's designs are in the tradition of French lace heritage typical of Northern France. The theme of the exhibit is a "dream-like anthem to lace" titled "EXPRESSIONS DENTELLE". Despite the tight space in the lobby, there are actually quite a few garments and photographs on display. Definitely worth the trip just to see the dresses up close.
The following are some pictures that I took of my favorite pieces in the exhibit.
